About

This is the Mahjong page of The Games Nook. Here you can pick one of ten layouts, from the small Little Garden with 36 tiles to the full Turtle with 144 tiles. Each layout has its own shape, such as the Pyramid, the Flower, the Cat, the Butterfly, the Star, and the Lantern, which is shaped like a Moroccan lantern. You can also play the daily Mahjong, which is the same deal for everyone. Every deal is built so it can be cleared, so you can always finish it with patience. There is no clock to beat. You can take your time, sit back, and enjoy a quiet break with a cup of tea or coffee. The page works on a phone or a computer.

How to play

Mahjong solitaire is a game for one player. Remove matching pairs of free tiles until the layout is empty. A tile is free when nothing lies on top of it and its left or right side is open. Flowers match any flower, and seasons match any season. To play here, tap a free tile, then tap its match. The tiles are removed and the layout gets smaller. You can use Undo at any time, and you can use Light up free tiles to see which tiles are free. If no move is left, you get one free shuffle.

Tips

Look at the tiles at the edges first, because they are often free. Try to free tiles that block several others at once. Use Undo when you are not sure, since it has no limit. Turn on Big tiles or Tile numbers in the settings if they help your eyes.
